Homemade Cards – Turkey Edition

Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty crafty and have indulged myself creatively. I’ve done projects with wood, clay, and paper which I’ll be sharing over the coming weeks. It’s really cool to be at a point in my life where I have so many different tools in my arsenal and am now seeing them build off each other.

I’ve always been a big believer in homemade cards. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I decided to make cards for a few of Andrew’s family members since he’s coming home with me for the holiday. I knew I wanted to do paper turkeys, but I didn’t have any clear cut idea when I started the first one. I just kept pushing until I was happy with the outcome, then made several. The only real standout feature in my opinion is the fringed feathers. It adds body, dimension, and interest to an otherwise very flat piece. I thought it was inspired.

This isn’t so much a DIY as maybe just documentation for myself, and perhaps some small inspiration for you to make your own cards. With a little construction paper, scissors, and glue, it’s remarkable what you can make.
