The Life Changing Magic of Having Cookie Dough in the Freezer

Do you ever need a warm chocolate chip cookie so badly that you might just die if you don’t get one in the next ten minutes? Yea, me neither…

When I first moved out on my own, I quickly discovered that it’s kind of hard baking for one. It can be dangerous to have 20+ cookies on hand, and honestly, I’m usually good after one or two. But, thanks to smart internet people, I learned that you can make the dough, and then freeze the extra dough balls, taking them out as a craving hits for a perfectly fresh, melty chocolate chip cookie. Life changing.

I’m a big fan of the classic CCC and while I’ve never really had a bad one, I’ve been on a quest for years to find a recipe worth sticking to. Now, cookie preferences are a deeply personal thing, but for me, the gooey-er, chewier, and more under baked the better. Chunks of chocolate that turn into pools are welcome, too.

Well, I’m happy to announce I think I finally found the recipe. Do yourself a favor and make these. And if you don’t eat all the dough before it makes it in the oven AND don’t need to make all the cookies at once, then freeze some for a random Wednesday afternoon. You’ll be so glad you did.
